My dear friend Michele and her friend Rick lost their house yesterday just outside Lincoln City, Oregon due to the Echo Mountain Complex Fire.   They lived on Salmon River Highway in Otis and  the entire manufactured home park was destroyed.

They had to evacuate immediately at 2am and only had time to get the bird (Bingo).  They have nothing but a couple items of clothing and Michele even ended up with mismatched pair of shoes. 

Thank God they and Bingo are safe and staying with friends well south of Lincoln City for now.  They have insurance for the house but who knows how long that will take and where they will be able stay until then and will need to replace everything.  

Michele is retired from the San Diego Sheriff’s Department (Las Colinas Counseling Office) and just moved to Oregon in May. I’ve know her for 20 years and she’d give you the shirt off her back. Her friend Rick would cook you an amazing meal if he still had a kitchen.  They are good people!
