Hi I am the Bryan, Team Leader of the Upper Eden Community First Responders based in Kirkby Stephen. We are a team of volunteers who respond to 999 medical emergencies across our wide rural area, providing critical life saving support in those precious minutes before an Ambulance arrives.
In addition to the life saving work we do ourselves, over the years we have been lucky to be able to fund the installation of 14 Defibrillators in the towns, villages and hamlets across our area in the Upper Eden Valley.
Public access Defibrillators are a vital life-saving tool that can be used by anyone to help someone who is unconscious and experiencing a cardiac arrest, usually located on exterior walls in weather proof cabinets in prominent positions in the communities.
Unfortunately, these 14 public accessible defibrillators have now sadly come to the end of their life and need replacing.
We rely totally on public donations and the project to replace these units is going to cost just under £9,000. If you are able to help in any way that lets us continue our vital life saving work, that would be really appreciated. Any donation at all, no matter how small, will be gratefully received and will help get us to our goal of replacing these 14 defibrillators.
