Our dear friend Harriet Mackie, 69, is going through an incredibly difficult time. She has been diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, and the treatment she needs is both overwhelming and expensive. Because she’s on medical leave and unable to work, she doesn’t have the income she needs to cover her rent, basic expenses, or the mounting medical bills.
Harriet is currently on a medication that offers her hope and precious time - but it comes with a very high cost. Without the ability to work, she simply can’t keep up.
If you know Harriet, you know she is the life of the party - the person who brings warmth and light wherever she goes. She has a way of making everyone feel welcome, included, and seen. She’s the kind of friend who remembers the little things, checks in when you need it most, and somehow becomes the glue that holds groups together.
Harriet has always lived a full, creative, joyful life. She loves pottery, spending hours with clay and turning it into something beautiful with her own hands. She’s an avid reader, the kind of person who always has a book recommendation ready and loves to share stories.
Before her diagnosis, she was always out walking, hiking, or biking - finding peace and happiness in the outdoors, staying active, and exploring the world at her own steady pace. Those simple joys mean everything to her.
Harriet has given so much of herself to the people around her. Now she needs us.
Why We’re Raising Funds
This fundraiser will help give Harriet the breathing room she desperately needs while she focuses on her treatment. Donations will go toward:
- Rent and daily living expenses while she cannot work
- Medical bills, treatments, and the high costs of her medications
- Providing Harriet with stability, comfort, and peace of mind during this incredibly hard time
How You Can Help
Any donation - large or small - will make a real and immediate difference in Harriet’s life. If you’re unable to contribute financially, simply sharing her story helps tremendously.
Thank you for supporting Harriet with kindness, compassion, and love. Your support means more than words can express.
