Uplift a Veteran Family in Need
Donation protected
Hello everyone, this is probably the most difficult thing I've ever had to admit, but my situation has made it where I am for the first time ever unable to pay my family's bills
This past January I was placed on a furlough from work with no notice. This furlough lasted around 3 months. During this time, I attempted to supplement living off my small savings with delivering Uber Eats, but the income there is unpredictable, and you require the generosity of customers giving tips to make any real money. It took less than a month for my savings to be depleted, as my monthly expenses are inflating dramatically with the economy. My tax refund extended my ability to provide for the family for about another month, however, much of that went to medical bills for my family, up to, and including a necessary surgery.
In the time since I have returned to work, I have received 4 final notices for bills, all of which are due this week. While attempting to catch up on all expenses, I have been working my regular job during the day and delivering with Uber Eats on nights and weekends. Unfortunately I have found myself around $800 short of my goal, and everything is due right in front of me.
If you are unfamiliar with the family you would be helping, we are not your average family. We are a couple, who have both served in the Army, with 3 children, 2 of whom are autistic. Because of because of that condition, those 2 are in a school that specializes in learning challenges, however, there is no transportation. With the increase of gas prices, our expense to simply get them to school has increased as well. Mom has mobility issues that prevent her from working a typical job, and has been fighting our state disability program for 2 years. Everything financially is on Dad, and though he has made things work thus far, we learned that 1 slight change can uproot everything you know.
Family time is non-existent anymore because of chasing money to simply survive. I know nobody owes us anything, but if anyone can help, we would be forever grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and have a wonderful day.
