Help me in upgrading my audio gear!

Hello!

As most of you already know, I'm Erik. I’m raising funds to upgrade my audio setup so I can put on an even better open mic night, without the technical difficulties we faced last time!

The March 8th Open Mic Night was an incredible event, but it also showed me where my gear (and my knowledge) fell short. Knowledge can always be gained, but quality audio equipment comes at a cost. To make sure the next event runs as smoothly as possible, I need to invest in two key upgrades:

CPU & RAM Upgrade – My computer struggled to keep up with the demands of the show, causing bottlenecks, slowdowns and straight up shutdowns. Upgrading these components will ensure a seamless experience for performers and the audience.

A New Interface/Mixing Board – My current interface not only kept cutting out on me, but also lacked the necessary inputs and outputs. A reliable, high-quality interface that will also double as a mixing board, will serve as the backbone of the entire show. During the show I couldn't properly hear the mix during the last event, leading to volume issues mixing issues. A dedicated mixing board will allow for quick, precise adjustments in real time that can be performed in an optimal location.

The next Open Mic Night is extra special because it’s been suggested that we turn it into a fundraiser for The AFC, an idea I absolutely love. With that, it also means the pressure is on to make sure everything runs smoothly and on time.

I’ve gone back and forth on whether to launch a GoFundMe. I’ve always wanted to personally give back what I could to the Film and Television community that I care so much about. After hearing encouragement on the matter from several people who attended the last event, I’ve decided to put this out there. I’m not asking for full funding as I’m trying to contribute as much as I can myself.

Any support, big or small, would mean the world to me and would directly help create an even better experience for performers and audience alike. Even a share can make the difference!

If we surpass the goal, any extra funds will either be put back into the show or donated in support of The AFC.
