UPDATES AT BOTTOM

Hey everyone,
This isn’t necessary a fundraising page because we have all our current needs met. This is intended to be a way to update all of you in one place. There’s been such a massive outpouring of support and concern that it’s getting hard to make sure everyone gets real time updates on our situation. The kindness and support we’ve received from all of you has been phenomenal.

First thing: We’re all miraculously safe and healthy, without a scratch on us. The kids are adjusting well and navigated all of it like the little mountain children they’ve always been. Jamison and I are also doing well amidst the deluge of decisions we’re having to make on a daily basis. We’re grateful to be alive and safe. We have experienced tangible miracles over and over in the past few days.

As many of you know, we had a tree fall through our roof on Tuesday night during the storm. I was inches from being hit and Jamison had just walked away from spot where it fell. We packed up our family and walked to the lodge basement, surrounded by continually falling trees. We stayed there overnight, listening to what sounded like a world war outside. I’m 38 weeks pregnant and started having contractions throughout the night. The power outage, inability to heat our space, and dangerous conditions led us to decide to make the harrowing journey into town to stay with a friend. Our incredible neighbors literally risked their lives to get us into town.

We’ve been generously offered a friend’s Airbnb in Sonora for the next month. We’re hoping baby Luke will make his arrival during that time in case the conditions at camp remain unstable. After that, our hope is to move into the camp lodge until we figure out what’s next.

Jamison is going out to camp today (Saturday Feb 21) with a small army of guys to check on our house and the rest of camp. They’ll attempt to move the tree and cover the hole to prevent future water damage. He’s going to try to gather some necessities from our house and see whether the lodge is an intact option for our family in the near future. Trees have continued to fall en masse for the past 4 days, so we have no idea what we’re going to find.

So many of you have kindly asked how you can help. Until we know what’s able to be recovered, we have no idea what we need right now. I’ll post another update soon.

UPDATE 2/22/26:
Yesterday Jamison and a small army of our friends were able to reach camp, assess the damage, and make some repairs.

There are trees down everywhere on camp; some were on (or through) buildings, some are on power lines, some still hanging precariously. Miraculously only a few buildings were seriously harmed: our house, the chapel, a summer cabin, and our friend’s trailer. Considering how many trees have fallen, it could have been so, so much worse. Power is still out.

The guys were able to accomplish so much in one day: They got the tree out of our house and put a temporary patch on it to keep the elements out. They got the trees dislodged from the chapel roof and covered the holes with tarps. They cleared the trees in the main driveway of camp. They got the tree out of Amanda’s trailer and tarped it. Jamison was able to get some more of our basic essentials from the house, all of which were still undamaged!

We still don’t know when or if we’ll be able to move back into our house, but there is potential for the roof to be repairable. A work crew from Calvary Chapel is planning to assess the project and see if it’s possible for them to repair it for us next month.

We moved into our friend’s Airbnb today, where we will be for the next month. It is beautiful, spacious, and peaceful. It was such a relief to unpack and settle in a little. We’re praying that baby Luke will be born while we’re living here so we have a minute to breathe before figuring out the next step.

We’re so deeply grateful for the community that is holding us up. The hands and feet of Jesus are so evident in all of you!

UPDATE 2/25/26:
Hey everyone,
Nothing solid to update today, but a few possibilities in the works. The Calvary Chapel men’s group thinks they could fix the main damage to our roof on March 7th. We’ve discovered several other areas of damage to other parts of the roof, so we’re not sure if the whole thing is worth repairing with the age and state of the mobile home. We’d love prayer for wisdom on this. We want to be good stewards of finances and resources, but we’d also love to be in our home as soon as possible.

Baby Luke is still hanging out comfortably inside. He’ll be born here at the Airbnb if he comes by March 24th (when we need to move from here). We believe God knows this baby’s birthday, but we’re hopeful that it’s either soon so we have a few weeks between birth and moving day OR he stays in until we’re home. Option A is better in our eyes, but we trust God’s plan in that.

Overall we’re settling in well and feeling a sense of normalcy as we return to some life rhythms at the Airbnb. The kids are still doing great. Jamison and I are tired, but good otherwise. Processing and decompressing. We see God’s hand in our lives very clearly. Thanks for checking in!
