Help for Cicely's University Tuition
Donation protected
I am attempting to raise some funds for my cousin Cicely to go to University. She is a bright, creative, passionate young lady and our family is doing everything we can to help her go to school. She has a very challenging home life and can not get financial help from there. She was granted OSAP, but the amount she qualifies for falls short of what she needs.
Cicely's highlights:
- Passionate activist for education and creating equal access to quality education for black students and students with learning disabilities
-Mediated students from both sides of Jane and Finch to work together with the intention to stop the cycle of gang culture
-Worked as a mentor in the Success Beyond Limits program and was voted favourite mentor by student vote
-Staged a school walk out to raise awareness of impact of proposed education cuts
-Student body president at her high school
-Key member of The Black Youth Collaborative. A collective of 20 students from across the city, who are working together to strengthen the education system for Black students experiencing racism and exclusion in Toronto.
Cicely's Achievements :
-Success Beyond Limits Volunteer Excellence
-Conflict Mediation Course Positive Peer Culture
-Law in Action within School Mock trial -Health and Safety Training
-CT- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System Genera
The investment made to support Cicely’s post secondary schooling will be repaid through her future impact as she has already shown her commitment to the community through service.
