Support Buddy's Journey to Recovery

Donation protected
My name is Buddy. I was adopted by a young girl named Chloe as a support cat from the Cat Coalition of Western Maine. I came down sick with an upper respiratory infection. I went to the vet a couple of times, but the last time, the vet techs were trying to hold me down to get blood, and I bit one.

The young vet wanted to euthanize me and have me tested for rabies (which I don’t and didn’t have). I had not been neutered or had my shots yet, as I was only 16 weeks old when I bit the technician. I was put into quarantine, and the TNR Program Rescue took me back to find out what was wrong with me. I could not walk very well; I was a bit wobbly. So, I have seen three different vets and have been diagnosed as not having rabies, but I do have some issues with a virus of some sort. It's not FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), but maybe I have toxoplasmosis or some sort of injury to my spinal cord. The x-rays showed no broken bones in my back or hips.

I am now on an anti-inflammatory medication, and I am starting to stand up better, and my tail is raising again, where it used to drag. But now I have a little problem with urinating. My bladder is enlarged due to maybe the virus or an injury that has now stopped me from urinating completely. So, my family at the Cat Coalition of Western Maine has to express my bladder twice a day while waiting on certain meds to work.

The vet said I should have more blood work done, plus an ultrasound, a CAT scan (no pun intended). My adopted family has already spent lots of money on me, and they had to return me back to the rescue. So now I’m costing them money to help me feel better. Please donate if you can. Please share. Please get my story out there. I want to live and be with my family who adopted me, but while I’m sick, I am with the Cat Coalition family.

Thank you, Buddy
