Help Us Honor the Life of Joanne

On June 1, our beloved Joanne, entered Heaven after a difficult medical battle. On May 19, she suffered a cardiac arrest that resulted in a global anoxic brain injury. Despite the incredible efforts of her medical team and the unwavering support of her family, she peacefully passed away surrounded by those who loved her most.

Anyone who knew Joanne, or Jojo as she was called, knew she was a fighter. For the last eight years, she faced one medical challenge after another with remarkable strength and determination. She survived multiple serious medical emergencies, including being intubated four different times. Eight years ago, doctors gave her only a 2% chance of survival, but Joanne proved them wrong. She was a warrior, a walking miracle, and an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

What makes this loss even harder to comprehend is how well she had been doing a few days prior. Just one week before her passing, Joanne celebrated her 71st birthday surrounded by family. Only days later, we spent another wonderful day together making memories. We couldn't stop talking about how great she looked, how well she felt, and how much we enjoyed our time together. She even had a consultation scheduled for a valve replacement that we were told could further improve her quality of life. Tragically, she never made it to that appointment.

Joanne was so much more than the medical battles she overcame. She was a devoted wife, loving mother of nine, cherished grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, and friend. She had the biggest heart and always made sure the people she loved knew how much they meant to her. She was constantly checking in on others, offering encouragement, support, and love. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel seen, cared for, and valued.

During her final days, her family remained by her side around the clock. Her husband slept beside her in a hospital chair every night, and her children and loved ones never left her side. We are grateful that she was surrounded by love through every moment of her journey.

As we navigate this heartbreaking loss, we are asking for support to help us give Joanne the memorial she deserves. The time spent at the hospital and by her bedside meant extended time away from work for many family members, creating significant financial strain. Unfortunately, no funds had been set aside for funeral expenses, and while we have been able to contribute toward the costs, we still face a substantial shortfall.

Our goal is to raise $6,500 to help cover the remaining expenses associated with honoring Joanne's life, including funeral and memorial services, a casket, transportation, flowers, prayer cards, and cremation costs.

Any donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden on our family during this incredibly difficult time. If you are unable to give, we would be deeply grateful if you would share this fundraiser and keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for helping us celebrate the life of a woman who spent her life loving, encouraging, and caring for others. Joanne's legacy of strength, kindness, and unconditional love will live on through the many lives she touched.

With heartfelt gratitude,

The Family of Joanne
