My name is Chelsea Hammer and as some of you may know my 27 year old sister Ashley Slagter suffered from a blood clot in her brain last month which caused her to suffer from a stroke and seizures. Due to the clot still being lodged in her brain, she is dealing with a constant debilitating migraine, the inability to read and going through continuous therapy sessions daily to help with everything from her cronic fatigue to speech.
She will now be on blood thinners for the rest of her life and the doctors are still trying to figure out the patterns of her seizures, and how long she will be on epilepsy medication.
She was also put on disability by her doctors and has since had to quit her job and schooling to become a hairstylist.
Due to her inability to work she has little to no income, and the unemployment insurance she is receiving is barely enough to pay for her blood thinner and epilepsy medication let alone her groceries, rent, and student loan.
Each day is different some days she feels okay, and others it's hard to leave bed. I love my sister and want to do anything and everything I can to help make this difficult time in her life even a little easier.
So I started this gofundme to help raise even a small amount of money to get her through these next few months and hopefully will eventually help her to get back her normal life.
