As some of you may know, in August I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I had brain surgery which was considered successful. Unfortunately, it has left me with many deficits. I am visually impaired (keep this in mind when texting...please call if you can) I cannot walk without a walker and my short-term memory has been affected. While I remain hopeful that these will improve in the future, the doctors do not offer a timeline when dealing with brain injury and recovery.

To add insult to injury, I have been terminated from my job and my insurance has now been cut off. Until I can get enrolled for Medicaid, any doctor visits and medication will be out of pocket. I can't currently afford the copay of the home nursing and physical therapy to which I was entitled when I had insurance. On top of that, I am desperate to save my car and my house along with paying electric and phone bills.

It's not easy to ask for help but I need it badly. I am applying for disability which is a lengthy process. Even with compassionate consideration, they cannot give me an appointment earlier than February to start the process.

As a result I am facing extensive time without any source of income.

I appreciate anything you can do. No amount is too small....
