My beautiful daughter Veronica has recently been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of adrenal gland cancer.

This cancer is incredibly rare — occurring in approximately 1 in 1,000,000 people. The tumour was 8.3 cm and, thankfully, it was found by accident while it was still encapsulated. We are incredibly grateful that it was discovered when it was, but unfortunately, this is a nasty cancer with a very real risk of returning.

Veronica has already been through surgery and now faces ongoing treatment that we hope will prevent this horrible disease from reappearing.

The treatment she needs is not covered by Medicare and costs around $16,000 per year. For a family with two children, while also having to take time away from work for treatment and recovery, this is an enormous financial burden.

As her mum, my heart breaks knowing that my beautiful big girl has to go through this. No parent ever expects to have to watch their child face something like this.

But amongst all the fear and uncertainty, there are positives. We found it. She has had the tumour removed. And now we are doing everything we can to give her the best chance possible.

We want Veronica to have the opportunity to fulfil her bucket list, make memories with her children and family, and enjoy the life she deserves.

We know times are tough for everyone, and we don't expect anyone to give more than they can afford. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference and help take some of the financial pressure away from Veronica and her family while she concentrates on getting through treatment.
