Berklee College of Music Bound

Hi Everyone, my name is Jayvon and I am weeks away from realizing my dream. I am an aspiring musician and songwriter. Through years of training, hard work and by the grace of God, I have been accepted into the undergraduate program at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. 

I have been studying music for over 7 years now. I fluently read and write music for trombone, euphonium, keyboard and am currently learning Bass guitar. For 9 years, I was the arranger and lead trombonist for a brass band where I taught kids ages 5-15 how to play brass instruments. The past 4 years and counting I have held the position of lead trombonists for my church marching band and lead trombonist and arranger for a  jazz ensemble. I am very proud of the awards I've received but most notably is the 2019 Quincy Jones Musicianship Award. 

As many know, top schools cost top dollars. Well, Berklee as the top music school in the nation is $73K a year. I am trying to raise funds to help cover my first 2 years if possible. After scholarships, grants, loans  and my parents personal funds I am down to needing just $30K per year more ($16K Fall Semester and $14K Spring Semester). Although, we need $30K, I only need $16K by Aug 30th to start this semester. I am pleading to the masses to please join my cause and help my parents close that gap. AT LEAST $16k BY AUG 30TH. It's a lot but I know it can be done. I'm just too close.

ALL funds will be used exclusively for educational purposes. I pledge to continue to use my education and experience to teach young people and inspire others with my music. I would be eternally grateful and indebted to my community to give back/pay forward as you have done for me.
