I started this page for a good friend Kara who gave birth to her son at 28 weeks and 2 days.
March 9th, 2015 started out like a normal day. Kara felt "off" so she decided to send a message to her OB nurse, and then proceeded to work as normal. She received a call to go to her doctors office to get checked out. At the visit they did some testing and the results showed she had ruptured her membranes and she had to be admitted to the hospital. She was transferred to Aurora Sinai due to the possibility of very early labor and a premature baby. Transportation and admission went well. Over the next 48 hours she kept having 2-3 hour spans of labor. They gave lots of fluids, meds, and she was put on complete bed rest and they were able to hold off delivery for 9 more days!
Leo Ernest Mollet was born on March 18th at 2lbs 12.8oz and 14.5 inches (12 weeks early). They couldn't hold him for 2 weeks after he was born, and Kara was just recently able to feed him this past week. He is currently on steroids and they are hoping once he starts eating more they will be able to bring him home in June. Leo will be 2 months on Monday 05.18.15.
Please keep Leo and family in your prayers, with your help we are hoping to ease the financial cost that can be incurred by having a premature baby and the time spent in the NICU.
