Until We Can Run Again

I was born into this world to bare the nick name Red Man given by the doctor that delivered me at birth. As a newborn I was covered from head to toe with the skin condition of Eczema. Eczema is a condition that causes dry, itchy and inflamed skin. It's common in young children but can occur at any age. It is long lasting and tends to flare from time to time. It can be irritating and very noticeable. Thus, the name Red Man. I cried continuously due to this uncomfortable situation. Eczema was and has been in my life ever since.
The name, “Red Man” is a strange relative of the name, “Rare Man.” The kinship of Red Man and Rare Man is relative in the sense of something infrequently seen before. Rare man is the undisputed miscommunicated term of confusion to all that knew me. Kugelberg Welander syndrome is a milder type of spinal muscular atrophy. It is a rare inherited neuromuscular disorder characterized by wasting and weakness in the muscles of the arms and legs, leading to walking difficulties and eventual loss of ambulation. Soon after my early teen years, I noticed that I could not keep up in sports with my friends. I was always in last place in any sports activity. My muscles grew, but they had depreciating strength. In my twenties, I began to fall and in my thirties, broken bones.
Bruce Lee, Gale Sayers, Jim Kelly and Muhamad Ali were some of the athletes that I aspired to be like. But because of Kugelburg Welander syndrome, my athletic light began to turn dim. It happened so slowly that people thought I was lazy, a liar and a fake. I was laughed at and physically abused because of it.
In my later years, I began to watch track competitions on television. I have a therapist I talked with about wishing I could run like those track stars that I love to watch. At my surprise, she told me that she ran track and has run marathons. I told her maybe one day, when we get to heaven, we will run together. She responded by saying I have an Idea. You can run now. By using a special cycle for people with disabilities, we can compete in races ASAP.
This cycle and other equipment have created the motivation to reactivate myself. After years of no physical activity with your help by financial donation I’ll be able to run again. Right now, I need your help to purchase the Blade Racer Cycle and the needed accessories for racing competitions. This is an opportunity to stimulate the mind, body and soul for the betterment of self and other onlookers that desire a lifestyle change. What a great way and opportunity for growth within this network of hope.
I and a network of others are on a mission to reset the mind of the disabled and the hearts of the onlookers. Through this GoFundMe campaign, Until We Can Run Again. Please consider giving any amount and sharing with your family, friends and community to help me run again.

I appreciate any help you can provide.
Sincerely, Bernard Prince
