Unterstützung zweier Schulen in Kenia

Wir möchten uns sehr herzlich bei allen Spendern für die Unterstützung bedanken und ein Update geben über das, was bisher erreicht wurde.

In einer Schule, der Bumula Grundschule, sind 6 Toiletten renoviert und 6 Toiletten neu gebaut worden! Hiermit ist jetzt zumindest die behördliche Mindestanzahl an Toiletten für die Gesamtzahl der Schüler erreicht worden. Wir danken sehr für die Unterstützung, die dies möglich machte!

Zudem haben wir jetzt mit der Renovierung der Klassenzimmer der Grundschulen in Bumula und Kapchonge begonnen.

We would like to thank all donors for their support and give an update on what has been achieved so far.

In one school, the Bumula Primary School, 6 toilets have been renovated and 6 toilets have been newly built! Thereby, at least the official minimum number of toilets for the total number of students has been achieved. We are very grateful for the support that made this possible!

In addition, we have now started the renovation of the classrooms at Bumula and Kapchonge Primary Schools.

Wir bitten um Spenden zur Unterstützung zweier Schulen im Nordwesten Kenias.

Die Bumula und die Kapchonge Grundschule sind beide im Bezirk Bungoma.

In beiden Schulen sind die Klassenräume und sanitären Einrichtungen katastrophal.

1200 Schüler der Bumula und 770 Schüler der Kapchonge Schule teilen sich wenige Toiletten und haben in Bumula keine und in Kapchonge nur eine funktionierende Wasserquelle zum Händewaschen.

In der Mehrzahl der Klassenräume sitzen die Kinder auf dem Sandboden, da es keine Schulbänke und Tische gibt. Die Klassenräume sind ohne Fenster und Türen und in einem sehr renovierungsbedürftigen Zustand.

Wir kennen diese Schulen und ihre Situation durch unser Forschungsprojekt zu Infektionserregern und möchten die Situation der Schüler mit Ihrer Hilfe versuchen zu verbessern.

Bitte spenden Sie, damit wir uns um Folgendes kümmern können:

- Neue Toilettenhäuser in beiden Schulen

- Schultische und Bänke für alle Klassenzimmer

- Die Klassenräume renovieren und instandsetzen

Wir werden mit den Lehrern und Eltern vor Ort dafür sorgen, dass die Gelder direkt für diese Zwecke eingesetzt werden.

We are requesting donations to support two schools in northwest Kenya, the Bumula and Kapchonge primary schools, both located in the Bungoma district. Both schools are in dire need of improvement; the classrooms and sanitation facilities are in a catastrophic state. The Bumula school has 1200 students and Kapchonge has 770 students, but they all have to share a few toilets, and at Bumula, there is none and at Kapchonge, there is only one functioning water source for handwashing. In the majority of classrooms, students sit on the dirt floor due to a lack of desks and chairs. The classrooms also lack windows and doors and are in dire need of renovation.

We learned about these schools and their situation through our research project on infectious agents and with your help, we would like to improve the situation of these students.

Please donate so we can take care of the following:

- New toilets for both schools

- Desks and chairs for all classrooms

- Renovation and maintenance of the classrooms

We will work with local teachers and parents to ensure that the funds will be used directly for these purposes.
