uns fehlen die Worte! Wir sind einfach nur überrascht, sprachlos und überwältigt, dass so viele von Euch gepsendet haben. Wir sind jedem von Euch so unendlich dankbar und wissen gar nicht was wir sagen sollen. Nicht nur die Spenden, sondern auch die vielen lieben und bewegenden Nachrichten, die uns erreicht haben, haben uns so gut getan. Es ist wirklich schön zu wissen, dass wir und unsere kleinen Ferienanlage, Euch so am Herzen liegen. Noch vor wenigen Tagen, sassen wir mutlos, mit hängenden Köpfen vor dem Schreibtisch und wussten nicht, wie es weitergehen soll. Jetzt, eine Woche nach Beginn unserer Spendenaktion, sind wir von Eurer sowohl finanziellen, als auch emotionalen Unterstützung, einfach nur überwältigt und unsagbar glücklich. Eure Anteilnahme, macht uns neuen Mut und zeigt uns ganz deutlich, dass jetzt nicht die Zeit ist aufzugeben, sondern der Moment, zusammenzuhalten, nach vorne zu schauen und zu kämpfen...und genau das werden wir tun! Ciao, wir sind Giorgio und Daniel,
leben auf Sizilien und führen nun in der 2ten Generation, die kleine paradiesische Ferienanlage „La Perla di Sicilia“ im wunderschönen und ursprünglichen Süden von Sizilien. Geboren und aufgewachsen sind wir in Aachen, als wir uns dann vor ca. 20 Jahren entschlossen haben, unser Leben in Deutschland aufzugeben und nach Marina Di Modica zu ziehen, um die Anlage von unserem Vater zu übernehmen.
Dieses Jahr hätten wir unser 55-jähriges Jubiläum gefeiert, aber leider hat uns die Corona Virus - Krise, wie viele andere grosse und kleinen Unternehmen auch, einen harten Schlag versetzt. Unsere Saison beginnt normalerweise Mitte März und endet dann Mitte November. Dies bedeutet für uns, dass wir in diesen Monaten, in welchen gerade in der Vor- und Nachsaison die Ferienanlage, leider selten ausgebucht ist, genug Geld verdienen müssen, um die Fixkosten unseres kleinen Familienbetriebes zu tragen und letztendlich, auch in den toten Wintermonaten, davon zu leben.
Leider hat die derzeitige dramatische Ausnahmesituation dazu beigetragen, dass wir unsere kleine Ferienanlage, auf unbestimmte Zeit schließen mussten. Zudem, was uns sehr traurig macht, erhalten wir tagtäglich Emails von Gästen, die ihren Urlaub bei uns dieses Jahr stornieren möchten. Leider gehören auch wir, zu den kleinen Familienunternehmen, die von der Hand in den Mund leben und keinen Rücklagen, zur Verfügung stehen haben, um die Kosten einer leeren Ferienanlage über mehrere Monate zu decken. Dies stellt uns unter eine sehr schwere finanzielle Situation, denn die versprochene Unterstützung der italienischen Regierung, werden uns als Kleinunternehmen im Süden Italiens, wie es derzeit den Anschein macht und wie schon so oft der Fall gewesen ist, wohl kaum erreichen.
Es hat uns wirklich Überwindung gekostet diesen Schritt zu gehen und Euch um Spenden zu bitten, doch kann wohl derzeit niemand absehen, wie lange dieser Ausnahmezustand noch andauern wird und leider erreichen uns auch schon Stornierungen, welche die für uns, so überlebenswichtige Sommersaison betrifft.
Wir müssen Euch um Unterstützung bitten, denn wir haben jahrzehntelang so hart gearbeitet und wollen auf keinen Fall, dieses kleine Urlaubsparadies für unsere Gäste, von denen so viele bereits zu Freunden geworden sind und unserer grossen Familie angehören, aufgeben müssen. Um mindestens die Kosten der nächsten 5 Monate decken können, brauchen wir ungefähr 25.000 Euro.
Wir hoffen zahlreiche Spenden von Euch zu erhalten.
Wenn wir am Ende dieser Aktion, einen Überschuss haben, werden wir diesen selbst dem Tierschutz auf Sizilien spenden.

It is really nice to know that we and our small holiday complex are so close to your heart. Just a few days ago, we sat down despondently with our heads hanging in front of the desk and didn't know what to do next. Now, one week after the start of our fundraiser, we are overwhelmed by your financial and emotional support, just overwhelmed and incredibly happy. Your sympathy gives us new courage and shows us very clearly that now is not the time to give up, but the moment to stick together, look ahead and fight ... and that is exactly what we will do! Because we want to continue to experience wonderful and unforgettable holiday moments with you.

Ciao, we are Giorgio and Daniel,
live in Sicily and are now the second generation to run the small, heavenly holiday complex "La Perla di Sicilia" in the beautiful and original south of Sicily. We were born and raised in Aachen when we decided about 20 years ago to give up our life in Germany and move to Marina Di Modica to take over the plant from our father.
This year we would have celebrated our 55th anniversary, but unfortunately, like many other large and small companies, the Corona Virus crisis hit us hard. Our season usually starts in mid-March and ends in mid-November. For us, this means that in these months, in which the holiday complex is rarely fully booked, especially in the off-season, we have to earn enough money to bear the fixed costs of our small family business and ultimately, even in the dead winter months, to live from it. Unfortunately, the current dramatic exceptional situation has contributed to the fact that we had to close our small holiday complex indefinitely In addition, which makes us very sad, we receive emails every day from guests who want to cancel their vacation with us this year.
Unfortunately, we too are among the small family businesses that live from hand to mouth and have no reserves to cover the costs of an empty holiday complex over several months. This puts us under a very difficult financial situation, because the promised support from the Italian government is unlikely to reach us as small businesses in the south of Italy, as it currently appears and as has so often been the case.
It really took a lot of effort for us to take this step and ask you for donations, but at the moment nobody can predict how long this state of emergency will continue and unfortunately we can already get cancellations that affect the summer season that is so vital for us.
We have to ask for your support because we have worked so hard for decades and we definitely don't want to give up this little holiday paradise for our guests, many of whom have already become friends and belong to our large family. To be able to cover at least the costs of the next 5 months, we need about 25,000 euros.
We hope to receive numerous donations from you. If we have a surplus at the end of this campaign, we will donate it ourselves to animal protection in Sicily.
We thank you now for your support and hope that this nightmare for all people in this world will soon come to an end.
