Dear Simhachalam Devotees, ISKCON Devotees, and well-wishing friends worldwide,
In the spiritual heart of our Simhachalam Temple (ISKCON Jandelsbrunn e.V.) stands an extraordinary soul who enriches us all with her devotion, love, and maternal care – Narahari-Dasi Devi Dasi. For over four decades, she has served Sri Sri Prahlad Laksmi Narasimhadeva with tireless commitment, was among the first devotees in His service, and has dedicated her life entirely to the mission of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
Last Friday, March 22, 2024, she traveled to Mayapur, India, with her sister Nandimukhi Devi Dasi, her niece, and her grandniece, for the first time in many years, intending it to be a pilgrimage. Unfortunately, it ended in an emergency.
On March 28, 2024, in Mayapur, she suffered a severe heart attack. The immediate transport to Birla Heart Hospital in Kolkata and the upcoming surgery underline the urgency of the situation. Her journey of recovery will be challenging, starting with a hospital stay followed by an essential rehabilitation phase in Kolkata.
Our request to you:
We are facing a challenge, both emotionally and financially. The costs for the surgery (approximately 262,578.00 INR), the hospital stay (about 50-60,000.00 INR per day), and the subsequent rehabilitation (cost estimate pending) amount to an estimated €16,000, covering: medical procedures, daily hospital costs in the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), suitable accommodation for the recovery phase, and the return flight tickets to Germany for Narahari Mataji and her accompanying sister Nandimukhi Devi Dasi.
Unfortunately, these costs are not covered by any foreign health insurance due to pre-existing, yet previously undetected heart problems, and her domestic European health insurance at AOK does not apply abroad (a return transport to Germany for the operation is not possible with her current health condition).
The temple naturally supports Narahari-Dasi Mataji in this situation. Every contribution, large or small, is a valuable gesture of love and solidarity. Your donations will not only provide urgently needed financial relief but are also a strong signal of community support.
How you can help:
- Financial support: Every donation helps us cover the necessary medical and logistical costs.
- Prayers and positive thoughts: Let us especially keep Narahari Mataji in our prayers and thoughts during her surgery (Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 8:00 AM (IST)) and recovery time.
- Sharing this call: The strength of the community is amplified by sharing. Please share this call in your networks to mobilize more support.
Together we are strong: With Sri Sri Prahlad Laksmi Narasimhadeva by our side, we can collectively accompany Narahari Mataji through this trial and give her the best possible chance of recovery and return to our spiritual home Simhachalam.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and your love.

Update: 30.03.2024
Dear Devotees thank you so much for all your prayers and generosity!
This is an update on Narahari’s health. Today she underwent the surgery in Colcatta heart hospital. The surgery went fine, she had in total 3 blocked veins out of which one veins got a stent. In few weeks / months (depending on her health condition), she will need another operation, which is for now planned to be done in Germany.
For now she stays 2 more days in Kalkutta Hospital, and will then stay for a minimum of 2 more weeks in India to recover, probably under the guidance of doctors in Mayapur.
We keep sending updates.

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada gewidmet.
Unsere Bitte an Euch:
So könnt Ihr helfen:
