Wir sind Jana, Angelica, Caro, Alin und Sabiha und wir sind als Freiwilligenarbeiterinnen an der „Christ Kingdom Acadamy“, einer ärmeren Schule im Westen von Accra, Ghana tätig. Wir unterstützen hier die Lehrerinnen und Lehrer beim Unterrichten, kümmern uns um Schülerinnen und Schüler, die im Unterricht nicht so gut mitkommen und spielen in den Pausen mit den Kindern.

Leider gibt es an unserer Schule weder Strom noch fließendes Wasser und auch materiell ist die Schule sehr schlecht ausgestattet. Von den 250 Schülern an dieser Schule hat leider nicht mal jedes Kind einen eigenen Stift.

Aus diesem Grund möchten wir den Kindern und Lehrern eine Freude bereiten. Wir wollen ihnen u.a. Stifte, Arbeitshefte, Bücher, Spielzeug, etc. zur Verfügung stellen, damit jedes Kind aktiv am Unterricht teilnehmen kann und mehr Freude am Lernen hat. Daher wenden wir uns an euch/ an Sie, mit der Bitte um eine Spende.

Die Kinder freuen sich sehr über jeden kleinen Beitrag von euch/ Ihnen, der ihnen das Schulleben etwas bunter gestaltet.

We - Jana, Angelica, Caro, Alin, and Sabiha - are a group of caring young adults currently volunteering at the Christ Kingdom Academy school in the western part of Accra, Ghana. Our role there is to assist the teachers with the lessons, support students who are struggling to keep up in class, and play with the children during breaks.

While the children at the school or enthusiastic and eager learners, unfortunately the school is considerably under-resourced which impacts the children’s ability to learn effectively. Both electricity and running water are scarce and the school is poorly equipped in school materials. In fact, a large number of the 250 students attending school are not even in possession of a pen for completing their schoolwork.

For these reasons, we would like to support the children and teachers by providing them with pens, notebooks, books, toys, and more. Our goal is for each child to be able to participate fully in the lessons and in doing so to have a more joyful learning experience.
