Why should we bring Hamza to Australia?
In Hamza’s words- “It began when I witnessed its justice system fair, professional, and deeply principled. This first impression led me to discover Australia's core values: true equality, vibrant multiculturalism, and that legendary "fair go" spirit that gives everyone a real chance. What inspires me most is how Australia doesn't just preach these ideals it lives them. Here, hard work meets opportunity, diversity creates strength, and pragmatic governance ensures justice for all. These aren't abstract concepts, but daily realities that align perfectly with my own beliefs.”
“As someone who's built a business from scratch while studying governance systems, I see in Australia the society I've always believed in - one where initiative is rewarded, backgrounds are celebrated, and everyone can contribute meaningfully. I don't just want to observe this system; I want to participate fully - bringing my skills, work ethic, and fresh perspective while learning from Australia's institutions and communities.
Australia represents more than a new chapter to me. It's the chance to finally live in a place that matches my ideals, where I can grow roots, give back, and truly belong. This isn't just migration it's finding the home I've been searching for.”
Hamza has been contributing to the conversation in Australia a good deal more than most ‘Aussies”. He has demonstrated a deep understanding of politics, policy and process. Morer than that, Hamza has demonstrated a willingness to engage and to contribute. Qualities that we all admire and know we could use a lot more of in this country. Haza would be an ornament to our society.
About the man:
Name: Hamza Nuhu
Background: Born and raised in Nigeria.
Skills: Tailoring (skilled), currently running a small business in Nigeria.
Education: A student but haven’t attended university yet.
Interests: A self-motivated researcher with a keen interest in political systems, justice, and governance. Though my path has been unconventional, my curiosity about Australia’s commitment to fairness and equality has driven me to independently study its policies, legal frameworks, and societal values.
Family: My late father was a dedicated businessman his entire life. After his passing, my incredible mum took on the full responsibility of raising us sacrificing everything, including her time and energy. Our family consists of me, two older sisters, two older brothers, four younger sisters, and one younger brother. Today, we live together with my mum and the younger children, while my four eldest siblings have moved on to build their own lives with their partners.
My Education Journey: I completed secondary school in 2019 and qualified for university, but our financial situation made continuing impossible. With no one to support my education, I had to put my academic dreams on hold.
My Tailoring Career: I learned tailoring first from my older brother, then spent years perfecting my craft under five different master tailors. This apprenticeship gave me strong technical skills and work discipline. However, I eventually left tailoring to pursue other opportunities.
About what I do: I am currently running a small business
