Hi! We’re a group of UNT students dedicated to supporting and raising $500 for Active Minds.
Active Minds is a national nonprofit organization that focuses on helping youth and young adults regulate their mental health. Active Minds has established chapters at over 500 campuses across the country and helped over 8 million students from all walks of life.
We want to keep this mission going! According to the Active Minds website, “67% of young adults with mental health symptoms do not receive care” and “50% of young adults experience a mental health condition at some point”. Furthermore, a survey conducted by the National Education Association revealed that 44% of the 90,000 students surveyed experienced symptoms of depression. With full schedules, deadlines, and daily responsibilities, it’s easy to overlook essentials like rest, movement, and connection. This makes the work of Active Minds more important than ever—and that’s where your support comes in!
Active Minds hosts Stress Less Week during finals season. What often looks like the most stressful season of the year can instead be the perfect time to reset, refresh, and recharge. Stress Less Week is a national chapter event that every campus chapter conducts, filled with a week of fun activities and self-care guidance to ensure students are in the right state of mind while they study for finals. With the help of your donations, Active Minds can cover the costs of hosting the best events possible for the most students possible. Contribute as much or as little as you are able. Every dollar makes a difference!
