Unshaken: Anthony’s Fight Against Glioblastoma(Brain Cancer)
Donation protected
I’m reaching out to share the incredibly difficult journey my brother, Anthony, is facing right now. In the first weekend of January, he developed a debilitating headache that led him to the emergency room. There, doctors discovered an egg-sized tumor in his brain. Just days later, he underwent surgery to remove the tumor. Thankfully, the surgery went well; however, Anthony suffered a seizure afterward.
While in the hospital, Anthony had to wait five long days for the results of his tumor biopsy. On Tuesday, January 14, he was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma (GBM), an aggressive and difficult-to-treat form of brain cancer. GBM carries a low survival rate and an uncertain prognosis. Despite this devastating news, Anthony's spirit remains unshaken. He continues to joke, set goals, and demonstrate an unwavering will to fight.
However, the truth is the road ahead is long, uncertain, and filled with challenges. Due to the diagnosis, Anthony is currently unable to work, and his wife, Gizelle, is now the sole provider for their family. Balancing work, caregiving, and the financial burden that comes with this diagnosis has been incredibly difficult for them. They will have to work around Gizelle's schedule to get him to treatments, and Anthony will be home alone after treatments during the day while Gizelle works—unless family members can fly out weekly to assist.
Although we live in different states and can’t always be there physically, as a family, we are rallying together to give him every bit of support. They are literally facing this journey alone.
As Anthony and Gizelle navigate this incredibly tough time, they need all the support they can get—emotionally, spiritually, and financially. This journey is not just about Anthony—it’s about his wife, Gizelle, too. With no family nearby and Anthony unable to work, we want to help ease the burden of keeping a roof over their heads, food on the table, and covering the unexpected costs of travel and treatment (they just turned in their car lease), as well as the daily challenges they are facing. Every contribution—whether it’s $1 or more—will help lift this weight off their shoulders. If you’ve read this far, we kindly ask you to share this page and spread Anthony’s story. Every share can make a difference.
This situation is unimaginable. In these darkest of times, we take strength from our faith, especially in the words of Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
We are asking for your prayers, your love, and your support—not just for Anthony, but for Gizelle, too, as they walk this difficult path together.
On behalf of all of us—our family, friends, and everyone who loves Anthony—we thank you for your prayers, your generosity, and for sharing this message. Together, we can help Anthony stay strong in his fight, knowing he is surrounded by a community of people who care deeply.
With love and our sincerest thanks,
Anthony’s Family
