Hallo, wir sind eine 5 -köpfige Familie. Als wir am 29.07.2023 auf dem Rückweg aus unserem Sommerurlaub in Rom waren, kamen wir in einen Stau. Ein unaufmerksamer Fahrer fuhr mit seinem Transporter ungebremst mit 150km/h in unser Auto. Unsere drei Kinder saßen auf der Rückbank und unser Hund saß im Kofferraum. Als der Fahrer in uns reinfuhr, flog er über unser Dach. Wir wurden gegen die Leitplanke gepresst und drehten uns, bis wir frontal mit voller Wucht in einem anderen Auto zum Stehen kamen. Wir waren alle schwer verletzt, jedoch hat es unsere Kinder am schlimmsten erwischt. Wie durch ein Wunder sprang unser Hund bei dem ersten Aufprall aus dem Auto und überlebte leicht verletzt. Unser damals 17 jähriger Sohn wurde so schwer eingeklemmt, dass die Feuerwehr ihn befreien musste. Er wurde mit dem Hubschrauber sofort ins Krankenhaus geflogen. Es war das Schlimmste für uns zu hören, dass er abwärts des Halses gelähmt ist. Es folgte eine 8-stündige OP und wir waren zunächst überglücklich, dass die OP so verlaufen ist, dass unser Sohn im Oberkörper wieder spüren konnte. Leider ist die Lähmung ab der Hüfte jedoch geblieben und er ist nun an den Rollstuhl gefesselt. Ein Leben mit Katheter und starken Medikamenten ist sein Alltag geworden. Weder die Versicherungen, noch die Krankenkasse haben bisher irgendetwas bezahlt. Bis jetzt haben wir den Spagat zwischen Arbeit und unseren drei Kindern, eins mit großem Handicap gemeistert. Aber die Kraft ist aus. Unser eigenes Restaurant mussten wir aufgegeben. Unsere Grundlage ist weg.

Im italienischen Fernsehen haben wir eine Reportage über eine neue OP Möglichkeit gesehen, in der es einen Chip geben soll, der gelähmte Menschen wieder zum Laufen bringen könnte. Wir haben sofort Kontakt aufgenommen und tatsächlich einen Termin bekommen. Wir mussten dazu in eine Klinik nach Mailand fliegen, da diese OP nur dort durchgeführt wird. Auch diese Kosten mussten wir alleine schultern. Der Arzt in Mailand machte uns Hoffnung. Unser Sohn sei der perfekte Kandidat. Jedoch sind die Kosten der OP unendlich hoch. Wir wünschen uns nichts mehr, als das unser Sohn irgendwann wieder laufen kann und seine Träume von einer Ausbildung und einem barrierefreien Leben in Erfüllung gehen. Sein Zimmer ist in der ersten Etage. Selbst die natürlichsten Dinge im Alltag sind für uns ein Kraftakt.

Wir freuen uns von Herzen über jede Unterstützung, weil wir es alleine nicht schaffen. Jede Hilfe zur OP und unterstützenden Alltagshilfen wäre für uns ein großer Mehrwert.

Hello, we’re a family of five, and

Our lives changed forever on the 29th of July, 2023. We were on our way back from our summer holiday in Rome when all of a sudden a drunk driver drove at 150km/h into our car.

Our three kids were in the backseat while our dog sat in the trunk.

As soon as the driver drove into our car he flew over our car and destroyed his own car.

We were pressed against the guardrail and turned until we came to a stop head-on with full force into another car.

We were all severely hurt, but the ones who had it worse were our kids, in particular our then 17-year-old Son. He got stuck so badly that the firefighters had to get him out of the severely damaged car and take him swiftly to the hospital with the emergency helicopter.

It was the most heartbreaking news to hear that he was going to be paralysed from the neck down from that day on.

He had to go through an eight-hour-long operation, and afterwards, we were thrilled to know that he could now feel his senses in his upper body.

But even though this news made us regain a slight sight of hope, the paralysis was still present from the hips down.

Now he is a prisoner to a wheelchair.

His daily life now consists of catheters and very strong meds.

Neither the insurance companies nor the health insurance company have paid anything so far.

So far we have mastered the balancing act between work and our three children, one with a major handicap.

But our energies have now drained, and we had to sell our restaurant after ten years.

On Italian television, we saw a report about a new surgical possibility, in which there is supposed to be a chip that could get paralysed people running again.

We immediately contacted the hospital and requested an appointment, and finally got one.

We had to fly all the way to a clinic in Milan, since the operation could only be possible there. The costs of the trip and consultation were all on us without the help of any insurance. The surgeon gave us a glimpse of hope after two years of this ongoing nightmare.

He told us that our son would be the perfect candidate for this type of surgery. The price of this operation goes beyond what we can afford.

Our only wish is for our son to be able to live a normal life again, and for him to finally walk again, and to regain his faith and follow his dreams.

His bedroom is on the first floor of our house right after the stairs.

Even the most natural things in everyday life are now a feat of strength for us.

We are very happy about any support we may get, because we can't do it on our own.

Any type of help for the surgery and support would be a great added value for us.

Buongiorno, siamo una famiglia di cinque persone. Il 29 luglio 2023, mentre tornavamo dalle vacanze estive a Roma, siamo rimasti bloccati in un ingorgo. Un guidatore ha investito la nostra auto con il suo furgone a 150 km/h senza frenare. I nostri tre figli erano sul sedile posteriore e il nostro cane nel bagagliaio. Quando l'autista ci ha tamponato, è volato oltre il tetto. Siamo rimasti schiacciati contro il guardrail e siamo stati sbalzati di testa fino a fermarci frontalmente contro un'altra auto. Siamo rimasti tutti gravemente feriti, ma i nostri figli sono stati colpiti più duramente. Miracolosamente, il nostro cane è saltato fuori dall'auto nell'impatto iniziale ed è sopravvissuto con ferite lievi. Nostro figlio, che all'epoca aveva 17 anni, è rimasto così gravemente incastrato che i vigili del fuoco hanno dovuto liberarlo. È stato immediatamente trasportato in ospedale in elicottero. La cosa peggiore per noi è stata sapere che era paralizzato dal metta in giù. È seguito un intervento chirurgico di otto ore, e inizialmente eravamo felicissimi che l'operazione fosse andata così bene che nostro figlio avesse ripreso a sentire la parte superiore del corpo. Purtroppo, la paralisi dall'anca in giù è rimasta, e ora è costretto su una sedia a rotelle. Una vita con un catetere e farmaci potenti è diventata la sua routine quotidiana. Né l'assicurazione né la cassa malati hanno pagato nulla finora. Finora siamo riusciti a conciliare il lavoro con i nostri tre figli, uno dei quali ha una grave disabilità. Ma abbiamo esaurito le energie. Abbiamo dovuto chiudere il nostro ristorante. La nostra fondazione è andata perduta.

Abbiamo visto un servizio alla televisione italiana su una nuova opzione chirurgica che prevede un chip che potrebbe permettere alle persone paralizzate di camminare di nuovo. Li abbiamo contattati immediatamente e abbiamo ottenuto un appuntamento. Abbiamo dovuto volare in una clinica a Milano perché questa operazione viene eseguita solo lì. Abbiamo dovuto sostenere i costi a nostro carico. Il medico di Milano ci ha dato speranza, dicendo che nostro figlio era il candidato perfetto. Tuttavia, i costi dell'operazione sono incredibilmente alti. Non desideriamo altro che che nostro figlio possa camminare di nuovo un giorno e che i suoi sogni di istruzione e di una vita senza barriere si realizzino. La sua stanza è al primo piano. Anche le attività più naturali della vita quotidiana sono una sfida per noi.

Apprezziamo sinceramente qualsiasi supporto, perché non possiamo farcela da soli. Qualsiasi aiuto durante l'intervento e il supporto quotidiano sarebbero di grande beneficio per noi.
