UNR Graduate Students Volunteer @ NV Aphasia Camp

Hi, my name is Elizabeth Hodgdon and I am a Speech Language Pathologist who attended graduate school in Reno, Nevada. During my time there, I was lucky to experience Aphasia Boot Camp in Las Vegas through a collaborative program with Aphasia Recovery Connection. It was thanks to donations from others in the community that I was able to have this amazing experience. I learned first-hand how to communicate with various people who had aphasia, a language disorder usually caused by a stroke or brain injury. It made me a better clinician and a better person.

Now it is my turn to give back, but I need your help. The Aphasia Center of Nevada is creating our first Aphasia Camp coming up this September. Several graduate students from UNR want to volunteer their time and attend Nevada Aphasia Camp and I'm hoping to raise some donations to make this possible. Your donation will help these students attend the program. Any money beyond what we need will be used to support people with Aphasia and other volunteers on an as-needed basis.
