Hello everyone,

My name is Shay, and I’m reaching out during one of the most heartbreaking times our family has ever faced. On the evening of July 16th, we took our beloved 7-year-old pup Bailey to the dog park just hoping for a normal, happy evening.

Bailey is the gentlest, kindest dog you could ever meet. She was just being her joyful self when suddenly another dog (unprovoked) lunged at her and attacked her, biting off a piece of her abdomen.

We rushed her to the emergency vet, where she was sedated, examined, given pain meds and antibiotics, and underwent extensive wound repair with sutures and drainage.

The hardest part? The owners of the attacking dog fled the park and haven’t been traced since. We’ve reported the incident to animal control and posted in our community, but no one has come forward.

Bailey has been such a loyal, loving member of our family for seven years. She’s supported us through countless moments; now she needs us to be there for her. My husband, our son, and I are doing everything we can, but this expense is more than we can handle at the moment.
