Back to School w/Smile & Olive: Fundraiser & Show
Online Comedy Gala Thursday, Oct 15 at 8pm EDT (UTC -4) featuring back-to-school stories from Lolly Adefope, Jim Gaffigan, Marie Faustin, Chris Duffy, and Cole Escola, hosted by Maeve Higgins.
You can sit with us! Join your favorite comedians (and Cole Escola) as we take you back to school for a comedy show with a great cause. This year, many American families are experiencing what it’s like to home-school. Is it fun, is it difficult, is it even possible? Well, imagine what it’s like doing so from a refugee camp. Here at Smile and Olive, a non-profit organization devoted to displaced Syrian families in Lebanon, we’re raising funds to get technology for all of our wonderful students. Many of them are using their parents' or neighbors' phones, and they have a poor internet connection. Help us help them, by supporting this wonderful campaign and hope you can make it to the show! (Will remain online 24 hours for international viewing.)

$55 helps us create videos and activities in Math, English, Arabic, and Science
$100 helps purchase tablets for kids, so they don’t have to share limited resources
$550 keeps a Syrian refugee child in school in Lebanon for a whole school year
About us: Smile & Olive Foundation supports the humanitarian relief efforts of Basmeh and Zeitooneh , our acting partner in Lebanon, Turkey and Erbil - Iraq, by making financial grants from contributions raised in the United States. Basmeh and Zeitooneh is responsible for more than six community centers for Syrian displaced civilians.
