Un terreno per salvare il rifugio Il Carro di Buoi!

380 animali. Pochi mesi per salvare il loro futuro.

Non possiamo più aspettare.

Sappiamo adesso che a fine anno dovremo lasciare il terreno dove oggi si trova il Rifugio.

In questo anno abbiamo lavorato duramente per posticipare il più possibile questo momento, ma adesso siamo alla resa dei conti.

Il terreno, che fino ad oggi l’associazione ha utilizzato in comodato d’uso, andrà all’asta tra settembre e dicembre 2025.

Non c’è più tempo.

Mesi fa abbiamo dovuto interrompere la raccolta fondi che avevamo iniziato per l’acquisto di un terreno bellissimo dove trasferire il rifugio, perché con la classica modalità all’italiana è stato poi assegnato con modalità fumose invece che con l’iter corretto.

Quel terreno ci ha fatto perdere un anno di tempo prezioso.

Da lì, ci siamo messi alla ricerca di altri terreni: sapete che non è facile trovare un terreno adatto che abbia i requisiti minimi, perché il nostro rifugio ospita 89 bovini che hanno bisogno - per normativa se tenuti all’aperto - di tanti ettari.

Ci troviamo inoltre nella condizione di non poterci spostare lontano, perché muovere 89 bovini semi-selvatici e imbrancati è difficilissimo e pericoloso oltre che estremamente costoso.

Abbiamo perso gli ultimi 6 mesi dietro ad un altro terreno che avremmo potuto pagare in cinque anni e in cui ci saremmo potuti trasferire a luglio 2025.

A trattativa conclusa e firmata, sono sorti dei problemi per scarsa serietà dei proprietari, che avevano nascosto delle gravi irregolarità che rendevano di fatto impossibile procedere alla vendita.

Avevamo trovato dei sostenitori per procedere con la prima rata, ma la nostra speranza di salvezza è sfumata.

Ci troviamo quindi oggi con pochi mesi davanti a noi prima di ricevere lo sfratto e nessuna trattativa conclusa.

Purtroppo, i costi dei terreni di molti ettari dotati di stalle (necessarie e dotate di determinati requisiti al fine di ottenere i permessi dall’ASL) sono elevatissimi, proibitivi, e quasi nessun venditore è disposto a pagamenti divisi in rate tramite rent-to-buy o riserva di proprietà.

Stiamo valutando più opzioni, più terreni.

L’ostacolo più grande è questo: non possiamo fare nessuna trattativa o proposta per nessun terreno se prima non troviamo i fondi per farla.

Abbiamo pochi mesi.

Ripartiamo da dove ci eravamo fermati, con la consapevolezza che se non riusciamo a fare un miracolo, questo rifugio andrà perso.

In tal caso il futuro per gli animali del rifugio sarà tutt’altro che roseo: il motivo stesso per cui è nato questo Rifugio è perché nessuno, 5 anni fa, poteva prendersi la responsabilità di 250 ovicaprini e soprattutto di oltre 80 bovini.

L’associazione si è rimboccata le maniche e lanciata in questa impresa anni fa perché per questi animali non ci sarebbe stata un’altra possibilità.

La situazione non è cambiata, anzi: non ci sono realtà in Italia che possano accogliere questi animali.

La loro unica salvezza può essere solo questa: riuscire a dar loro una casa sicura.

Abbiamo bisogno dell’aiuto di tutti voi. In massa.

Urgentemente.

Non c’è tempo e non c’è piano B.

Abbiamo davvero paura.

380 Animals. Just a Few Months to Save Their Future.

There’s no time left for our sanctuary.

We now know that, by the end of this year, we will be forced to leave the land where our farm sanctuary currently stands.

Over the past year, we’ve fought tooth and nail to delay this moment. But the countdown has begun.

The land — granted to us through a temporary use agreement — will be auctioned off between September and December 2025.

There’s no more time.

Months ago, we had to halt the fundraising campaign we had launched to buy a beautiful new property where we could move the sanctuary.

Despite following all the rules, the land was assigned through unclear, unfair processes — costing us a precious year of planning and hope.

Since then, we've searched tirelessly for other suitable farm lands. But finding a property that meets the strict legal and logistical requirements is incredibly difficult.

We care for 89 semi-wild cows on top of 250 goats and sheep, who by law, must have large grazing areas if they have access to outdoor areas.

And relocating them far from where we are now is nearly impossible—it would dangerous, extremely expensive, and the long transports would be emotionally traumatic for them.

We then spent the last six months negotiating for another property, one we could have paid off over five years and moved into by July 2025. Everything was signed. We were ready. Supporters had pledged the first down payment.

Then disaster struck: the sellers had hidden serious legal issues that made the sale collapse.

Once again, the dream slipped through our fingers.

Now, we’re just months away from eviction, with no new land secured, and no deals on the table.

Properties with the size and types of barns/buildings we need—especially ones that meet animal welfare and health regulations —are incredibly expensive.

And almost no owners are open to long-term payment plans or rent-to-buy options.

We’re evaluating several lands. But here’s the harsh truth:

We can’t make any offers unless we have the funds to back them.

And time is running out.

We’re picking up from where we left off— this time knowing full well that if we don’t pull off a miracle, the sanctuary will be lost.

And with it, the animals’ only hope.

Let’s be clear: this Sanctuary was born five years ago because when the former dairy farm that operated on this property closed its business, no one else could take in 250 goats and sheep — and especially not over 80 cows.

So our organization had to step in. I, Alessandra, had to step in and become a sanctuary runner and turn my life upside down in just a few days.

That reality hasn’t changed.

There is no other safe place in Italy that can take them in.

Their only hope is here. With us. With you.

We need everyone’s help. Right now.

There is no Plan B.

We are truly scared.
