Help Holly Heal

Hi, my name is Jenny and I'm creating this GoFundMe for Holly Hudgins. Holly was born with a genetic kidney disease. Polycystic Kidney Disease has cost Holly both of her kidneys. She has been on life-saving dialysis and the kidney transplant waiting list for years now. Holly got the call that a perfect match kidney was awaiting her at UVA on October 17, 2021. She dropped everything and rushed there to receive her new kidney. Her recovery has not been an easy one. Her kidney is functioning, but is very slow to "wake up". She had worked hard to save up for this procedure, as she knew she would have a long recovery and would be out of work for some time. During Holly's last procedure she had her mom by her side the whole hospital stay and most of her recovery. Holly has since lost her mom, her dad passed years ago as well. She's recovering with the help of her sisters, which has been so wonderful....and very hard at the same time. As a single mom of two amazing kiddos, a business owner and altogether independent woman, to say this has been a trying time would be an understatement. Her life has led her to Richmond, but her recovery has been mainly in Buckingham. She's been unable to see her children as much as any mother would. She has endless appointments in Richmond and Charlottesville. While driving home from one of these appointments a deer ran out in front of her and hit the front of her car. Now she has auto repairs to add on top of the mounding pile of stressors. Holly is very strong-willed and would never ask for help, that's why we are stepping in to relieve some of this financial burden for her. Owning your own business means no work, no pay. Anything given will go towards daily living expenses as Holly heals and gets back on her feet stronger than ever.
