Dear family and friends. As we approach the 14th of September and the first hearing for Yoon's trial we started the contacts with some of the victims of these criminals. They are asking for compensation unfortunately and are not willing to understand the situation. Maybe driven by greed or pride but the fact that victim number one has asked for no less than 15 million won(13.000 USD) the second one asked for 7 million(5.000 USD) and the third one 24 million(18.000 USD).

At the moment we managed to gather around 10,000 USD. We have a last chance to try and push to gather some funds to be able to reduce Yoon's sentence by more than a year with an effort that could help her get back to her life sooner. I hope you can find it in you to contribute and share the fundraiser link to help save her life.

Carissima famiglia e amici. Mentre ci avviciniamo al 14 settembre e alla prima udienza del processo di Yoon, abbiamo iniziato a contattare alcune delle vittime di questi criminali. Sfortunatamente, stanno chiedendo un risarcimento e non sembrano disposte a comprendere la situazione. Forse spinte dall'avidità o dall'orgoglio, ma il fatto che la prima vittima abbia richiesto nientemeno che 15 milioni di won (13.000 USD), la seconda 7 milioni (5.000 USD) e la terza 24 milioni (18.000 USD).

Al momento siamo riusciti a raccogliere circa 10.000 USD. Abbiamo un'ultima possibilità di cercare di raccogliere fondi per poter ridurre la condanna di Yoon di più di un anno, con uno sforzo che potrebbe aiutarla a tornare alla sua vita al più presto. INNOCENT TRAPPED IN KOREAN TELEFRAUD SCAM

YOON KANG è detenuta in un carcere coreano per un crimine che non ha commesso.

Appello della famiglia e degli amici per la liberazione di Yoon Karen B. Kang.

Yoon Kang è nata nel 1992 a Manila, nelle Filippine, da mamma autoctona e un papà coreano che non l’ha cresciuta. Nel suo paese è stata educata nei valori della tradizione, che l'hanno portata ad essere una persona di sani principi, legata alla famiglia e impegnata nella scuola, come nella vita. Ha affrontato con grande tenacia i sacrifici di un percorso universitario, che ha compiuto con successo fino alla laurea in “Science in International Travel and Tourism Management”, conseguita nel 2014.

Per cercare una realizzazione personale e professionale e continuare a sostenere negli studi i fratelli e i cugini, si è trasferita a Dubai nel 2015 dove ha lavorato per 8 anni in una nota compagnia aerea in qualità di “flight attendant”. Negli UAE ha conosciuto il collega Filippo Battocchio, nato in Italia, a Belluno, con il quale si è unita in matrimonio nel febbraio del 2023. A marzo è partita in avanscoperta per la Corea del Sud, spinta dal desiderio di riempire il vuoto culturale delle sue radici coreane e cercare un luogo più vivibile, in cui iniziare una nuova esperienza di vita.

A Seul ha iniziato a lavorare come bar manager, per poi lasciare l’impiego ed accettarne uno più “sicuro” e capace di garantirle stabilità e diritti sociali.

Complice l'ignoranza linguistica e il divario culturale, adescata in una famosa piattaforma social per lo sviluppo di contatti professionali, è stata spinta a firmare un contratto, poi rivelatosi fasullo, e coinvolta inconsapevolmente nel business illecito di una Compagnia che perpetua frodi telefoniche: le “phon scam”. Ha lavorato per soli 12 giorni in qualità di “service officer”.

Fermata dalla polizia coreana, mentre svolgeva le mansioni lecite previste dal contratto, è stata arrestata e attualmente è in attesa di processo per un crimine che non ha commesso.

Le prove della sua estraneità, rispetto alla vera natura dell’incarico a lei assegnato, sono molteplici, ma la giustizia coreana attualmente la ritiene la sola responsabile, perché la sola ad essere stata intercettata. Sulla base dei precedenti giudiziari e del parere di vari professionisti consultati, sappiamo che tra le varie opzioni per evitare che Yoon subisca una condanna di 4 o 5 anni di detenzione, è contemplato il risarcimento delle vittime della truffa, affinché cadono le accuse. È particolarmente elevata in South Corea la diffusione di questo genere di truffa, che vede coinvolti giovani stranieri, vittime loro stessi, tra le vittime di questo crimine.

Tra un mese il giudice emetterà la sentenza, che dipenderà anche dal risarcimento offerto alle persone raggirate.

Abbiamo deciso di muoverci con tutte le nostre forze per dare una speranza a Yoon, che già da un mese è detenuta in carcere in condizioni disperate e rischia di perdere la sua salute fisica e mentale, oltre che anni della sua preziosa vita. Chiediamo aiuto per restituire Yoon ai suoi affetti, al suo futuro e a quei sogni semplici e puri, che non avrebbe messo a repentaglio per nulla al mondo.

È necessario raccogliere la cifra indicata per il patteggiamento: ogni centesimo corrisponde a un attimo di libertà per Yoon, ogni contributo, piccolo o grande, è estremamente prezioso e accolto con gratitudine.

YOON KANG is being held in a Korean prison for a crime she did not commit!

Appeal for the release of Yoon Karen B. Kang from her family and friends.

Yoon Kang was born in 1992 in Manila, Philippines, to a native mother and a Korean father who did not raise her. In her country she was educated in the values of tradition, which led her to be a person of sound principles, linked to the family and engaged in school, as in life. She faced with great tenacity the sacrifices of a university career, which she successfully completed until graduating in "Science in International Travel and Tourism Management", achieved in 2014.

To seek personal and professional fulfillment, and continue to support in studies brothers and cousins, she moved to Dubai in 2015 where she worked for 8 years, in a well-known airline, as a "flight attendant". In the UAE she met her colleague Filippo Battocchio, born in Italy, in Belluno, with whom she married in February 2023. In March she left for South Korea, driven by the desire to fill the cultural void of her Korean roots and seek a more livable place, in which to begin a new life experience.

In Seoul, she started working as a bar manager, then quit her job and accepted a more "safe" one that would guarantee her stability and social rights.

Due to both linguistic ignorance and cultural gap, deceived by an announcement in a famous social platform for the development of professional contacts, she signed a seemingly regular contract, then proved bogus, being unknowingly involved in the illicit business of a company that perpetuates telephone fraud: the "phone scam". She worked for only 12 days as a "service officer".

Stopped by the Korean police, while carrying out the lawful duties indicated in the contract, she was arrested and is currently awaiting trial for a crime she did not commit.

There is a great deal of evidence that she is not involved in the actual nature of the task, but Korean justice now holds her solely responsible for the crime because she is the only one who has been intercepted. Based on the judicial precedents and the opinions of various professionals consulted, we know that among the various options for preventing Yoon from being sentenced to 4 or 5 years in prison, there is compensation for the victims of the scam, so that charges can be dropped. It is particularly high in South Korea the spread of this type of fraud, involving young foreigners, victims themselves among the victims of this crime.

In a month, the judge will issue the sentence, which will also depend on the compensation offered to the deceived people.

We decided to move with all our strength to give hope to Yoon, who for a month has been in prison in desperate conditions and risks losing her physical and mental health, as well as years of her precious life. We ask for help to return Yoon to his affections, her future and those simple and pure dreams, which she would not jeopardize for anything in the world.

It is necessary we collect the figure indicated for the settlement: every penny corresponds to a moment of freedom for Yoon, every contribution, small or large, is extremely valuable and welcomed with gratitude.
