Dear Friends and Supporters,
We are excited to once again introduce you to our Project-Based Learning school, nestled in the outskirts of Arusha, Tanzania. Our school is called KIA Learning House and it has become a beacon in our impoverished community. With the goal of providing tuition-free quality education to children far from opportunity, we have been transforming lives and empowering our students to become agents of change in our village and surrounding communities.
In KIA Learning House, founded in 2017, we carefully design academic projects that integrate real-life challenges and tasks that resonate with the lives of our scholars. We focus on learning the art of food science and traditional health and wellness (edible forests as well as a natural medicine and herbal garden).
Now, as we embark on the journey of a new academic year, we are reaching out to you for support to make our 2023 wishlist a reality. Your generous contributions will not only help us enhance our existing infrastructure but also expand our school's capacity, creating a nurturing environment where more children can access a tuition-free education (follow us on Instagram)
Here's how your donation will contribute to an item(s) to positively impact our school, the lives of our students, and their families:
1. Constructing More Classrooms: By building additional classrooms, we can accommodate a greater number of students, ensuring that no child is denied this no-cost opportunity to learn and grow.
2. Creating a Vibrant Playground: Play is an essential part of childhood development. With your support, we can construct a new playground, fostering physical activity, social interaction, and imaginative play among our students.
3. Hiring More Dedicated Teachers: Our passionate teachers play a crucial role in shaping young minds. By expanding our team, we can provide a more personalized and enriching educational experience for each student.
4. Expanding the School: As the demand for quality education grows, we aim to increase the size of our school, allowing us to enroll more students and serve a growing number of community families wanting to participate in our program.
5. Building a Small but Impactful Library: Access to books and educational resources should be a fundamental right. A dedicated library will empower our students with knowledge, foster a love for reading, and open doors to endless possibilities.
6. Establishing a Volunteers/Vistors' House: We would love to host volunteers from all around the world so they can contribute their time, learn from us, and lend their expertise to our school. Creating a comfortable living space will encourage more dedicated individuals to join us and further enrich the learning experience for our students.
7. Purchasing a More Reliable Vehicle: Our current vehicle has served us faithfully for many years but is becoming increasingly unreliable. Lately, the repairs have become cost prohibitive. A new-used car will enable us to transport students safely, and efficiently, as well as allow for timely delivery of our farm supplies and resources to support our school's operations.
8. Supporting Professional Development: Our teachers and staff are the backbone of our institution. Your donations will help provide them with valuable professional development opportunities throughout the 2024-2025 school year, equipping them with the latest teaching methodologies and strategies to inspire and engage our students effectively.
9. Classroom Equipment and Materials: We are in need of tables, chairs, classroom floor mats for circle time, an additional laptop computer, classroom shelves, chalkboards, storage, and a photocopy/printer machine
Together, we can bring about a significant positive change in the lives of these deserving children and empower them to reach their full potential. No contribution is too small, and every dollar counts. Your support will create a lasting impact, not only on our students but also on the community as a whole.
Join us on this transformative journey of education and empowerment by donating to our GoFundMe campaign. Help us build a brighter future for the children of our Tanzanian village and surrounding communities.
