Unley RSL dawn service 2025 live painting project
Donation protected
I am Sean Halfpenny young veteran and emerging artist, my artworks are acrylic paintings on canvas. These artworks are inspired by my service and memories from my service in the Australian Army. This service included active service in Afghanistan. After an honourable discharge from the Australian Army I married my wife and together we have 3 children. My introduction to painting was during treatment I was receiving for PTSD. I have found art and the process of painting very therapeutic. My art ranges in size upto 1200mm x 900mm. These paintings include portraits of photos I took whilst on patrol in Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan in 2010. Art has given me the opportunity to honour past friends, connect with other veterans and help other veterans reflect on their experiences.
I have decided to do a live painting during the 2025 dawn service at the Unley RSL Soldiers memorial gardens. This painting is a portrait of and is dedicated to Peter Badcoe. Peter was awarded the Victoria Cross, Australia's highest military honor, for his bravery during the Vietnam War. I will be donating this painting to the Unley RSL once completed.
If you like my art and would like to help fund this project. Please donate doing this will also assist me in becoming a professional artist.
