Heidi moved to San Francisco from Germany in 1979. She has been a Sunset neighborhood favorite since 1992, sharing her unique fashion style and flair with everyone she meets. Throughout her life she has been a beloved teacher: from schoolchildren in Hamburg to teaching private German lessons over the phone and out of her home. Music is a lifelong passion and joy. She is an avid piano player and worked selling subscriptions and fundraising on behalf of the San Francisco Opera for 22 years.

Earlier this Fall Heidi went to the hospital for a suspected stroke and was diagnosed with terminal, metastatic lung cancer, which is affecting her brain, lungs, spine, kidney, and liver.

Relying only on social security and a small pension, she now needs our help.

Heidi is fiercely independent and always refreshingly honest. At this time, her circle of friends are uniting together to help her maintain the best quality of life possible (rent, food, in-home services), while staying current with her treatment and medical expenses.
