On January 30th, after days of intense and painful testing, our dear friends Jameson and Cassidy received the heart-wrenching news that their 6 year old son, Logan, has B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL), a type of blood and bone marrow cancer. This diagnosis came as a complete shock and has completely turned their world upside down.
Two days after his cancer diagnosis, Logan had his port surgically placed and he immediately began chemotherapy treatment. Logan has a very intense 7 months of chemotherapy ahead of him with at least 2 years of treatment following. Despite everything, Jameson and Cassidy have continued to keep their strong, positive mentality for Logan while also caring for their 11 month old, Reneé, who is unable to visit her big brother at the hospital due to isolation precautions currently in place.
If you know Logan personally, you know exactly what I mean when I say he is the most wildly energetic, yet tender-hearted 6 year old. He has a cheeky, witty humor coupled with the most contagious laugh. He loves WWE Wrestling, Ninja Turtles (he even named his chemo port Michaelangelo!!), Marvel and Disney movies, football, basketball, soccer, baking/cooking, crafts, being outside with friends, wrestling with his Dad, going to parks and the zoo with his Mom, and helping to take care of his baby sister, Reneé. We are hopeful that he will gain more strength and energy throughout his treatment and get back to enjoying all his favorite things again soon!
Our goal is to provide the Lakes family with the necessary financial support for them to be able to concentrate wholeheartedly on supporting their son and his brave fight against Leukemia.
Donations made to #United4Logan: Logan's Fight Against Leukemia will be put directly towards the many costs that come with a cancer diagnosis, such as: medical care, hospital stays, travel expenses, mental health resources, living expenses, childcare expenses for Logan's sister, Reneé, and subsequent follow up visits after treatment. Donations in any denomination are so greatly appreciated and will make a tremendous difference for the Lakes family during this time.
The Lakes family have expressed immense gratitude for all the love and support they have received thus far. They will continue to update this page to keep friends and family informed on Logan's courageous fight against cancer.
Please share Logan's journey and continue to send him all your love and positive healing energy.
