On February 1, 2025, our world turned upside down. That evening, our healthy 17-year-old son, Landon, came out of his room and told us he wasn’t feeling well. Within hours, we were rushing him to the ER, completely unaware that we were stepping into the most terrifying storm of our lives.
By the next morning, Landon was on life support. His heart was failing.
He was diagnosed with tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy, a condition that left his heart so weak it could no longer sustain him.
He spent two long months in the hospital, underwent multiple surgeries, and received an LVAD, which is a mechanical pump that kept his heart beating while we waited and prayed for a miracle.
And then God answered.
On September 15th (My Birthday), Landon was officially listed for a heart transplant. The very next day, September 16th, we received the call that a heart was available. And on September 17th, Landon underwent the surgery that gave him a new chance at life.
We are forever grateful to God, to the donor family, and to all of you who have prayed, encouraged and supported us through this journey.
But while the transplant is a miracle, recovery is a marathon. Landon is still in the hospital. Every day has brought new victories and new challenges. As a family of 8, we are doing everything we can to be by his side while also caring for our children at home.
Your generosity helps cover the overwhelming costs that come with this journey.
❤️ Lost income as we take time off work to be by Landon’s side
❤️ Insurance premiums to keep his coverage in place
❤️ Travel, lodging, and meals during hospital stays
❤️ Childcare for our younger kids while we are away
❤️ Unexpected medical and household expenses that keep piling up
Through this entire journey, Landon's faith has not wavered. Even in weakness, he continues to point us back to Jesus. His story is already touching thousands, and is a living testimony that miracles still happen and that God is faithful.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for praying. Thank you for giving. Thank you for sharing. You are a part of this miracle, and we will never forget your love.
All Glory to God, who is writing this story and will carry Landon through full recovery.
With Love & Gratitude,
Landon's Family
