United for Panama: Immediate Earthquake Relief
Families in Panama need help right now. On October 9, a powerful earthquake struck the interior of Panama, tearing through communities in Veraguas, Los Santos, Herrera, Coclé and beyond. Roads and bridges collapsed, hospitals were evacuated, schools were damaged, and entire towns were left without power, clean water, or a way to reach help. Families lost everything overnight, and many are still cut off from the outside world.
We are the Carvalho Family Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Mineola, New York; Together with the Chema Caballero y Familia Foundation, led by José “Chema” Caballero of the New York Yankees, we launched United for Panama to get essential supplies directly to the families who need them most, immediately.
This fund is for immediate relief. Your donation is put to work right away to buy and ship what these communities are asking for:
Food, baby formula and diapers
Hygiene and first-aid supplies
Blankets, sleeping mats and clean bedding
Basic medical supplies for first responders
Every dollar goes toward relief supplies for affected families. We’re collecting and shipping through October 31. We work hand in hand with Panama’s government and trusted partners on the ground, so help reaches the communities that need it, not just the ones that are easy to get to.
Panama has given so much to our families and our community. Now it’s our turn to show up for Panama. Please give what you can today, and share this with anyone who calls Panama home.
Panamá nos necesita unidos. Together, we can help these families recover and rebuild.
Thank you — gracias.
