Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,

My name is Patricia, and I am reaching out to you with a project that is incredibly close to my heart. In October 2021, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This condition has significantly impacted my life and eventually led to my departure from a full-time career I loved as a teacher. It has been hard to accept the new life I had to get used to, and it has been even harder to make people understand what was going on under the surface they could see.

Despite the challenges I face every day, I am determined to transform my journey into something positive and impactful. That's why I am planning an art exhibition titled "You Look Well: Unveiling the Invisible Battle of MS". This exhibition will showcase mixed materials artworks that vividly express the various symptoms associated with MS.

Living with MS has given me a unique perspective on life, and I believe that art has the power to convey the emotions and challenges that words often struggle to express. Through this exhibition, I aim to raise awareness about MS, fostering understanding and empathy among those who may not be familiar with the intricacies of this condition.

Last but not least this will be a way for us all to fundraise money that will help the UK MS Society with their research towards an eventual cure.

Cari amici, familiari e gentili sostenitori,

Mi chiamo Patricia e vi sto contattando per parlarvi di un progetto che mi sta incredibilmente a cuore. Nell'ottobre 2021 mi è stata diagnosticata la sclerosi multipla (SM). Questa condizione ha avuto un impatto significativo sulla mia vita e alla fine mi ha portato ad abbandonare una carriera a tempo pieno che amavo come insegnante. È stato difficile accettare la nuova vita a cui mi sono dovuta abituare, ed è stato ancora più difficile far capire alle persone cosa stava succedendo sotto quella superficie che era l’unica cosa che potevano vedere.

Nonostante le sfide che affronto ogni giorno, sono determinata a trasformare il mio viaggio in qualcosa di positivo e di grande impatto. Ecco perché sto programmando una mostra d'arte intitolata "You Look Well: Unveiling the Invisible Battle of MS". Questa mostra presenterà opere d'arte realizzate con materiali misti che esprimono vividamente i vari sintomi associati alla SM.

Vivere con la SM mi ha dato una prospettiva unica sulla vita e credo che l’arte abbia il potere di trasmettere le emozioni e le sfide che le parole spesso faticano ad esprimere. Attraverso questa mostra, il mio obiettivo è aumentare la consapevolezza sulla SM, favorendo la comprensione e l’empatia tra coloro che potrebbero non avere familiarità con le complessità di questa condizione.

Ultimo ma non meno importante, questo sarà un modo per tutti noi di raccogliere fondi che aiuteranno la UK MS Society nella sua ricerca verso una possibile cura.
