My name is Lateisha Medeiros, sister of Adrien Joseph Leonard. I am hoping to start a yearly successful memorial organization in my brother’s honor with your help!
August 17, 2025, my family lost my brother to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy—a disease that steals strength year after year and shortens life far too early. He lived with courage, humor, and heart, and he always connected deeply with kids who were walking the same path he had walked. I truly believe God gave him a heart meant to care for others, and that calling didn't end when his life on earth did. His compassion continues through the lives he inspires.
In his honor, I'm raising funds for Rory Nightingale an 8-year-old boy who was diagnosed with Duchenne in 2023 from Mashpee (our hometown). This diagnosis is still new for his family, and they're doing everything they can to keep him strong, supported, and able to enjoy every part of childhood for as long as possible.
Despite the challenges Duchenne brings, Rory is still walking, still participating in fun runs-even if he comes in last-and he does it with a smile that lights up the whole track. His joy in those small moments is a reminder of what truly matters.
Rory is a happy, creative boy who loves Legos, drawing, and hanging out with his big sisters. His spirit is strong, and he meets every challenge with courage and a smile.
!!Where Your Donation Will Go!!
All funds will help Rory continue accessing the things that keep him healthy, safe, and able to enjoy childhood:
• Medical expenses & treatments
• Travel costs for specialist appointments
• Strength-building therapies
• An adaptive bike, which is a huge goal for his family-this bike would give him independence, confidence, and a powerful form of physical therapy that helps maintain mobility for as long as possible.
This fundraiser means so much to me because my brother understood exactly what Rory is facing.
Helping Rory is a way to carry on my brother's love, strength, and legacy. It's a way to make sure something good continues in his name.
If you can donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you can't, please share this-your share alone could be what gets Rory the equipment and care he needs.
Thank you for helping me honor my brother by lifting up a brave little boy who deserves every chance to keep smiling, moving, and living fully.
Join us August 15, 2026 at the Wareham High School Andersson Track & Field. From 2-6pm. We will be walking to fight Duchenne! Music, entertainment, games, food trucks/vendors & more
