My name is Piper and I am a neighbor of Moy and Jacklyn. When I saw the enormous response to her For the Love of Food Café's FB post explaining why they arFor more informatione currently closed, I knew in my spirit that we as a community WILL step up for them. This precious couple would never even consider asking the community to help them- that is what drove me to call her personally and insist lovingly that this page be set up {Shout out to Garrett Sims who did the same}. *Please note: I know from walks and talks with Jacklyn that this couple strives to be financially responsible. They are frugal in their personal spending and have tried to save for the future. With a business venture, that can prove to be challenging when many unforeseen business-related costs arise. They have met those challenges head on but this one is personal and blindsided them. They are very physically active, working upwards of 12+ hours daily 6 days a week, careful with what they eat and drink and have tried to take good care of themselves. Unfortunately, this health-related expense has shocked them by its sudden and unexpected nature.

When a community unites, the synergy created can bless a family far beyond what one person could imagine doing. Moy & Jacklyn are a humble, kind, hardworking, family and community oriented couple. As anyone in the restaurant business can attest, owning and operating a food truck and now restaurant space is extremely challenging. Moy is facing many unknowns with his current condition. He literally has been physically unable to work the job to which he's dedicated his life. Jacklyn is holding the household together for their two children and is his scheduler and driver for the multiple doctor visits. There is a Lumbar puncture procedure that is upcoming. It is only done on Thursdays and they now await an opening that likely will come over a month from now. A neurologist must be seen prior and the next opening is July 8th- from there, early to mid August appears to be the best guesstimate on when he'll be seen for the Lumbar. This GoFundMe will lessen the financial burden of a $15,000 medical deductible plus the many costs associated with their business and home. Neither partner is able to work at the restaurant during this waiting period and I believe we can each generously provide something to give them hope and breathing space. These funds will keep them afloat and alleviate the much of the mental stress of financial responsibilities that can take no breaks. If this goal is met, this gives them the summer to take care of Moy's health and hopefully come back stronger than ever.
