Hello everyone,

My name is Brittany Buchanan I live in New York but have several family members left in Jamaica and I am starting this GoFundMe to help bring some relief to the island of Jamaica. Jamaica is a place that I proudly claim as my 2nd home as that is where my family derives from. Seeing many family members, family friends and neighbors lose their shelter, their clothing, their source of food and water to hurricane Melissa is truly disheartening. I want nothing more than to help restore the island and bring in resources to show my support and love to not only my loved ones but to others on the island as well. Many western parishes have been hit and face catastrophic damage and I would greatly appreciate your help in restoring life to those western parishes. The goal is to raise enough money to help restore homes by purchasing bricks, steel, wood, doors, cement and more so that people will have shelter. In addition to that, the goal is to raise enough money to supply these areas with food, drinking water and toiletries, along with supplying water to families for bathing, laundry and cooking.
