Hello! My name is Lily, and I'm putting together a street art festival for my senior Capstone project at Templeton Academy D.C. There will be mural painting, chalk art, crafts, music, and food! Everyone in the community is more than welcome to attend.

I decided to embark on this project because creating art has positively impacted my life, and I want to share this joy with the D.C. community. I believe that art has the ability to bring people together; public art is psychologically proven to improve our overall well-being, and working on collaborative art can strengthen relationships and one’s sense of belonging in their community.

My hope is that this festival causes people of all ages, but especially young people, to feel empowered and joyful. My generation is still struggling with the isolation that COVID-19 brought. I believe community events that connect others are more important now than ever.

Funds will be used to procure permits and all necessary materials.
