I am fundraising for an independent horror film inspired by the strange and very emotional experience of meeting a 40-year-old sister I didn’t know existed. As we caught up on the last few decades, she told me stories of her Mormon upbringing, something that couldn’t be more removed from my experience.

Filtered through my secular brain, these conversations sparked the idea for a horror film set within this subculture exploring themes of infidelity and violence. The film is a unique chance to illuminate a cultural niche with an insider’s insight (my sister is a consultant on the film) while simultaneously exploring the genre space.

The funds raised will go directly toward production costs: renting equipment and locations, designing and finding makeup/props/set dressing, and most importantly: hiring talented cast and crew. Every dollar raised will help bring this vision to life and ensure the film is made with the quality and care it deserves.

As a filmmaker, I've had the privilege of working with Richard Linklater (DAZED AND CONFUSED, SCHOOL OF ROCK, BOYHOOD) as intern, assistant, mentee, and now friend, and my last feature film, THE WASPS (2025), which he executive produced, is currently playing in Texas and New York City. This background has given me the skills to bring this project to life and the confidence that comes from experience.

In an age of superhero saturation, so many indie films of the last few years like HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS, SKINAMARINK, and OBSESSION have proven that audiences are eager for fresh, original stories.
