El martes pasado nuestro papá sufrió un infarto. Durante cuatro días soportó fuertes dolores pensando que no era nada grave sin saber lo grave de su condición. Al llevarlo al hospital de Portuguesa, fue diagnosticado con edema pulmonar y un infarto al miocardio.

Nos indicaron la necesidad de un cateterismo, y con los recursos que teníamos logramos trasladarlo a Barquisimeto, al Centro Oncológico donde realizan este procedimiento. El cateterismo se realizó, pero durante el estudio los médicos confirmaron que, por la patología cardíaca severa que presenta, nuestro papa no puede resolverse con cateterismo y lo que realmente requiere de manera urgente es una cirugía cardiovascular (bypass coronario).

El diagnóstico médico indicó:

• Enfermedad de tronco distal (60%), que compromete seriamente su corazón.

• Lesión aterotrombótica del 99%, la cual fue la causa directa del infarto.

La cirugía de bypass debe realizarse de manera urgente en Puerto Cabello, Carabobo, con el Dr. Weber, y tiene un costo de 12.000 dólares.

No contamos con los recursos para cubrir este procedimiento vital. Por eso acudimos a la solidaridad de quienes puedan colaborar.

Last Tuesday, our dad suffered a heart attack. For four days, he endured severe chest pain, thinking it wasn’t something serious, without knowing how critical his condition really was. When we took him to the hospital in Portuguesa, he was diagnosed with pulmonary edema and a myocardial infarction.

With the limited resources we had, we managed to transfer him to Barquisimeto, to the Oncology Center, where he underwent a catheterization. However, during the procedure, the doctors confirmed that due to the severity of his heart disease, catheterization would not be enough, and what he urgently needs is cardiac bypass surgery (coronary bypass).

The medical diagnosis indicated:

• Distal trunk disease (60%), which seriously compromises his heart.

• Atherothrombotic lesion of 99%, which was the direct cause of the heart attack.

The bypass surgery must be performed urgently in Puerto Cabello, Carabobo, with Dr. Weber, and it has a cost of $12,000.

We do not have the resources to cover this life-saving procedure, which is why we are reaching out for the solidarity of those who may be able to help.
