Mi lucha contra el cáncer de lengua

Hola, mi nombre es Laura Álvarez Miranda, tengo 63 años y desde hace poco más de un año enfrento la batalla más dura de mi vida: cáncer de lengua.

En este tiempo he pasado por un camino lleno de retos físicos y emocionales. Perdí una parte de mi lengua y hoy dependo de una sonda para alimentarme. He recibido 30 sesiones de radioterapia y 4 quimioterapias, pero al final de este proceso me encontraron tumores metastásicos.

A pesar de todo, no quiero rendirme. Mi mayor deseo es vivir, disfrutar de mi familia y recuperar calidad de vida. Existe aún una opción de tratamiento mediante inmunoterapia, que podría darme una nueva esperanza. Sin embargo, los gastos médicos han sido enormes y, a pesar del apoyo de mis seres queridos, ya es casi imposible cubrirlos. Lamentablemente, el sistema de salud en México no me ofrece esta alternativa.

Por eso recurro a este espacio con humildad, para pedir tu apoyo. Cada aportación, por pequeña que parezca, significa para mí una oportunidad de continuar luchando y un rayo de esperanza para seguir adelante.

My Fight Against Tongue Cancer

Hello, my name is Laura Álvarez Miranda, I am 63 years old and for a little over a year I have been facing the toughest battle of my life: tongue cancer.

During this time, I have endured many physical and emotional challenges. I lost part of my tongue and today I rely on a feeding tube. I have undergone 30 sessions of radiation and 4 rounds of chemotherapy, but at the end of this process, doctors found metastatic tumors.

Despite everything, I don’t want to give up. My greatest wish is to live, to enjoy time with my family, and to regain quality of life. There is still a treatment option through immunotherapy, which could give me a new chance. However, the medical expenses are overwhelming, and despite the support of my loved ones, it has become almost impossible to afford. Unfortunately, the healthcare system in Mexico does not provide this option.

That is why I come here with humility, to ask for your support. Every contribution, no matter how small, means another opportunity for me to keep fighting and a ray of hope to move forward.
