Les presento a mi abuela, Marcela Alarcón. Ella tiene 83 años y es una persona muy querida en nuestra familia: abuela, bisabuela, madre, hermana, tía y mucho más.

El día viernes, mientras viajaba de Chiquimula hacia Izabal, Guatemala, para visitar a familiares, el carro en el que iba junto a cinco de nuestros familiares fue impactado por un conductor ebrio. El accidente fue muy grave, y ella resultó ser una de las más afectadas. Estaba en el asiento del copiloto cuando el vehículo fue golpeado de lado.

Mi abuelita padece de osteoporosis, lo que significa que sus huesos son más frágiles y su recuperación tomará más tiempo. Ella se fracturó ambas piernas y un brazo, y necesitará aproximadamente cinco cirugías en total.

Les pedimos que la mantengan en sus oraciones, y si desean brindar su apoyo, cualquier donación —sea un dólar o una oración— será de gran ayuda y profundamente agradecida. Todo lo recaudado se destinará a cubrir sus gastos médicos en Guatemala.

This is my grandma, Marcela Alarcon. She is 83 years old and means so much to my family — she’s a grandmother, great-grandmother, mother, sister, aunt, and more..

On Friday, while traveling from Chiquimula Guatemala to Izabal to visit family, the car she was in (with five other relatives) was hit by a drunk driver. The crash was severe, and she was among the most seriously injured. She was rushed to the hospital by the paramedics. She was sitting in the passenger seat next to the driver when the car was struck from the side.

Because of her Osteoporosis (which causes weak bones) her recovery will take longer. She suffered many fractures in both legs and one arm and will need around five surgeries in total.

We kindly ask that you keep her in your prayers, and if you would like to help, any donation- even a dollar or simply a prayer - would mean the world to us. All funds will go directly towards her medical expenses in Guatemala.
