Hi, I am Agus.

In case you haven’t heard of me, I am a two-month-old baby,  and I was  recently diagnosed with Short Bowel Syndrome after losing 95% of my small intestine.  My long-term treatment is available in just a few places in the world.

Doctors are doing what they can for me, but in my country, El Salvador, the adequate supplements are not available.  The parenteral nutrition they can provide me with is not recommended for the time I need it because it can damage my liver. 

I was accepted in a hospital in the United States.  Even though I have insurance, the cost of my treatment is very high.  My parents and brother will come with me so that our family can stay together. 

There are so many living expenses that need to be covered...rent, food, medicines, and the insurance’s deductible and coinsurance to name a few. 

In light of this, we appreciate and welcome any amount that can help us face these challenging times.

Por si no has oído de mi, soy un bebé de dos meses y padezco de “síndrome de intestino corto” luego de haber perdido el 95% de mi intestino delgado, mi tratamiento definitivo está disponible en pocos lugares del mundo.

 

Los doctores están haciendo todo lo que pueden por mi, pero no hay suplementos adecuados y la nutrición parenteral disponible en El Salvador no se recomienda para el tiempo que yo la necesito ya que puede dañar mi hígado.

 

Me aceptaron en un hospital en Estados Unidos, a pesar de tener seguro, los gastos son muy grandes. Mis papis y mi hermanito van a acompañarme para que nuestra familia se mantenga unida.

 

Hay tantas cosas que necesitan ser cubiertas como: vivienda, transporte, alimentación, medicamentos especiales, el coaseguro y deducible.
