Unharm Fair Day Campaign 2016

We’re members of the queer contingent of Unharm. We're building a campaign for queer spaces free from harrasment by police, by ending drug detection operations in NSW. You can help make it possible through a donation to the campaign.

For more than a decade now, police have used drug detection operations as a pretext to patrol our recreational spaces, harassing members of our communities and other marginalized groups. Those operations are intrusive, unfair and unsafe.

We want to bring together the growing global movement for drug law reform with the vibrant history of queer activism here in Sydney.

We love Sydney’s queer party culture and we appreciate the part it has played in making Sydney a playful, friendly and dynamic city. Drug detection operations are killing our scene and pushing people to adopt more risky drug taking practices. Pill testing would be a much more positive intervention by government.

We’re raising money to support this campaign. Our next goal is a stall at Sydney Mardi Gras for Fair Day 2016 to raise the profile of our campaign and engage supporters from within our community.

The money raised will be used for the fee payable for the stall, costs of the design and the production of marketing collateral. We will then continue to raise money throughout February to help build and promote this campaign during Mardi Gras 2016 and beyond.

We need the funds by the end of February 2016.

We appreciate any financial support for this campaign and will be forever grateful to those who generously donate to the cause.
