Hi! We are Billie Amatus-Salaam and Michelle Pompei, both Public Health graduate students at Armstrong State University. We’ve been invited to speak at the World Women’s Health and Development Form at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. We will be presenting on a proposal to aid women in post conflict nations by the development of a mobile phone app that will help women facilitate their own psychosocial support groups. Please help fund our travel and lodging!
Not only are we presenting to the entire forum, but we have the chance to learn from world leaders in public health. We’re excited to learn about new problem solving opportunities in the field and have the chance to participate in improving the health of women on a global scale.
This is the first time in our professional and collegiate careers that we’ve been presented with an opportunity like this. With our shared interest in women’s health, this is a perfect fit for our post-graduate goals. Unfortunately, there is limited funding available through our university, so we’re reaching out to our friends, family, and anyone else who would like to help us get to Geneva.
