Mustansir Soni from Pakistan is looking to family and friends for support to pursue his education. He’s had an extremely difficult upbringing with separated parents and financial instability. His two aunts have been raising him as best they can but they have chronic diseases (cancer and severe diabetes) and have been struggling to make ends meet. They sold everything they had, including their stores and other assets, in order to pay their bills.
Mustansir is now 19 and was admitted to University of Water Loo in Canada to study Mathematics and Science – he has a lot of potential to be successful. It’s crucial that he gets the best education so that he’s able to graduate and get a high-paying job so that he can support his family in need and bring stability in the household.
The University has warned the family that he will be removed if he’s unable to pay the fees by the end of January 2020. He got a job at Mcdonalds and will be working to pay his remaining semesters but needs help for the initial school payment until he saves. Unfortunately, he’s not eligible to receive student loans because he’s an international student.
