Unexpected tragedy Tina and Chris Hooks

In November, my fun loving sister in law, Tina Hooks experienced a life changing stroke that landed her hospitalized. Chris, her husband, managed to juggle family, work, farm life, and navigating a new post stroke world of therapy and medical appointments while also actively advocating for the best interests of a child that has been bounced around the NC foster system his whole life. Then again in late December, Tina had another more severe stroke that landed her in the Intensive Care Unit followed by 6 weeks in a rehabilitation facility.  While Tina was in rehab, Chris’ mother became very ill with Covid-19 and unfortunately passed away on January 30.


Just as things were beginning to calm down and the Hooks family was working on what their new normal would look like with Tina finally back at home, wheelchair bound, unable to work, and a long road of multiple therapies ahead of them, the unimaginable happened. Their 12 year old daughter, Lexi passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 24. Lexi was their light and joy. Funny, wild, and crazy with a limitless future ahead of her.


As Chris, Tina, and Cali navigate this unimaginable world of grief, compounded with more grief, mounting medical bills, and now funeral expenses, we wanted a way to show them our love tangibly and provide some relief for the financial stress they are experiencing on top of everything else. 


The Hooks Family has been dealt blow after blow over the past three months, and we would like to provide those who love them a way to serve and offer some relief.  We love our family, they are always the first to offer help and offer support to those around them, now is our opportunity to help ease their burden.







Any money raised will go directly to Tina and Chris to be used towards funeral and medical costs.
