Unexpected Tragedy - Funeral Expenses

There is no way to describe the loss of a child. You rejoice in their birth, their first words, their first steps, kindergarten days, drawings on the fridge, teenage laughs and drama, and then watch them go and begin their lives. Suddenly your little girl is a grown woman, becomes a mommy to her own little sweet girl, then soon after a darling little boy. Life moves on, being a grandparent is new and exciting, and the family grows and glows!

 

For the Edgar family, tragedy struck just after Thanksgiving on November 30, 2021, BROOKE LYNN EDGAR, just 28 years old, was found in her home, gone from this world. No one plans for this! There is no reasoning or understanding of why this happens, but the loss ripples in many directions. Funeral plans must be made, and then what of the future of little Kandyce Lynn Edgar, only 10 years old, and her little brother Kayden Lee McCray, just 9 years old?

 

Writing this GoFundMe is especially painful because the needs are so great. Twenty-eight-year-olds do not save for their funeral. Brooke was saving for Christmas presents for her littles. Her life was still beginning!

 

Before you give, we want you to know a little about this sweet young woman! Brooke Edgar was born on January 5th, 1993 to young parents, Chad and Crystal Edgar (now Alexander) in Haysville, Kansas. This began the journey of a fast-growing and bustling family adding siblings Nathaniel and Gage Edgar, then later after new beginnings, Chad and wife Melissa Edgar bring Kimberly, Hope, and David Meadows along with little ones Xavier and Alexis Edgar!

 

Brooke's mom Crystal and her husband Nathan Alexander, blend in Collin Alexander, Keaton, Kamryn, and Isaac. Can you imagine the fun, noise, and true family feeling of all these siblings and their children? Brooke has been blessed with a total of 11, count 'em up, 11 brothers and sisters.

 

Naturally, the Mother Hen role went to Brooke! She was always checking in on everyone, and she loved cooking for her family and taking road trips with them! She had this thing with her siblings that whenever they each got their drivers' permit, she wanted to be the first person to take them driving!

 

Brooke graduated from Campus High School in Haysville, Kansas then later went on to take technical classes and worked in customer service roles and housekeeping for clients. She loved animals and had dogs and kitties for all to love. Her favorite dessert just this Thanksgiving was the good old-fashioned cherry pie.

 

Her favorite joy of all was being a mother to Kandyce and Kayden. They have been everything to her. In life's struggles and hurdles, holding her children, being their mom, was her life. For these precious ones to wake up without mommy, is more than most can bear.

 

For Chad and Crystal, husbands, wives, siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and the many, many who were touched by Brooke, there are no words.

 

However, there is a real need. A great need that must be addressed, as services are being planned, questions and answers as to what to do are happening. Then what of the kids? We ask you with most humbleness and love, to please give what you can, and SHARE this!
